SACRED VALLEY - ZIP LINE:

What is a Zip-Line or Canopy?
A Zip-Line, Flying Fox, Zip Wire, Aerial Runway, Death Slide or Tyrolean Crossing, consists in a pulley suspended to cables which are attached to a slope or inclination. It is designed so that the user is propelled by gravity and slides downward, from its upper part to its bottom end by means of a cable.

Who can use the Zip-Line?
Minimum age to use the Sacred Valley´s Zip-Line is 6 years old.

What equipment is being used?
We use a canopy harness (pulley, strap and 3 carabineers), a helmet, gloves and a Via Ferrata set.
Security on the Zip-Line

All sections between two Zip-Line cables are equipped with a Via Ferrata system for greater safety. The cables have been tensed in such way that users lose speed as they get closer to the end of each cable. When reaching the last cable, users must break their speed down. To help you and for safety
reasons, an assisted brake has been installed on the pulley system which can be controlled by the
professional guide to break the user´s speed, if necessary.

All our guides are mountain guides trained in vertical rescue and first-aid

What should I take along?
Wear light clothes and good shoes you already used before and feel comfortable in, like sport or hiking shoes, do not wear sandals, and preferably wear pants (trousers). Take into account that it can be cold during the morning when leaving Cusco and that the temperature might drop while climbing up to the Zip-Line start point. So, take a sweater (pullover) and/or windproof jacket or vest along, in a small daypack, together with at least 1 liter of spring mineral water, preferably without gas.
